About School Visits

Arizona author & illustrator, Joey Welsh, is available for school visits. With over 13 years of experience as a full-time artist and author of three children's books, Joey brings a unique perspective to his talks. His presentation explores the fundamental power of words, colors and pictures. Through step-by-step examples, Joey demonstrates how he writes a story, how he constructs his illustration, how he extracts humor from his characters, while also exemplifying the value of hard work. His presentation is anchored with an engaging slideshow, accentuated with personal anecdotes. His goal is to give the children an inspiring but practical experience.

•    5-6: The older group learns about art/writing as a career and will learn tools for their craft. 45 mins + 5-10 min Q&A.
